Stewardship Charter Adopted:
March 29, 2026
Support Local Hawaii was created from a deep sense of aloha and kuleana for the islands we call home.
Operating as a non-denominational church under the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code Section 508(c)(1)(A), the ministry exists to uplift and support the people and traditions that help Hawaii thrive, rather than operate as a commercial enterprise.
Our gatherings are open to all who wish to participate in community reflection, service to the ʻāina, and support for Hawaii’s people and culture.
“Let us take a moment of gratitude for the land and water that sustains us, the people who care for these islands, and the opportunity to gather together.”
Hawaii carries a living legacy of culture, community, and natural beauty that has been nurtured by generations before us. The land, ocean, and people of these islands are deeply interconnected, and the choices made today will shape the future inherited by those who follow.
This charter establishes the guiding principles, responsibilities, and spiritual purpose of Support Local Hawaii as a stewardship ministry dedicated to uplifting communities, protecting cultural knowledge, and caring for the ʻāina.
Through this work we seek to act with humility, respect, and aloha, recognizing that we are caretakers of something far greater than ourselves.
Support Local Hawaii exists to strengthen and uplift Hawaii through service to the land, the community, and the cultural heritage of the islands.
The ministry seeks to inspire actions that benefit:
The purpose of this ministry is service rather than profit.
All activities undertaken through Support Local Hawaii are intended to create positive and lasting impact for Hawaii and its people while encouraging responsible stewardship of the islands.
Support Local Hawaii is rooted in the understanding that all people are children of God (ke Akua) and part of a shared human ʻohana.
With this understanding comes kuleana — a responsibility to care for one another, to mālama the ʻāina that sustains life, and to act with aloha in our words, choices, and actions.
Inspired by the spirit of the early laws and constitutional principles of the Hawaiian Kingdom, which recognized the dignity and protection of all people, this movement embraces the belief that leadership and community alike carry a duty of stewardship.
Guided by aloha, kuleana, and mālama ʻāina, Support Local Hawaii seeks to strengthen communities while honoring the cultural traditions, knowledge, and values that shape the identity of these islands.
Through humility, service, and respect for the land and its people, we strive to contribute to a future where Hawaii can thrive for generations to come.
The work of this ministry is grounded in the values that have long guided life in Hawaii.
Aloha reflects compassion, respect, humility, and the understanding that all life is interconnected.
Kuleana reminds us that each person carries responsibility to care for the well-being of community and land.
The land and ocean sustain life. Stewardship of the ʻāina is a sacred responsibility.
Community is strengthened through relationships of care, support, and shared purpose.
The ministry commits to acting with integrity, balance, and a sincere desire to do what is right.
These values guide every decision and action taken within the movement.
Support Local Hawaii operates as a ministry platform and community initiative dedicated to:

Through service rooted in aloha, the movement seeks to leave a positive legacy for future generations.
This charter represents a shared commitment to stewardship.
As communities evolve and new challenges arise, the principles of this charter will continue to guide the ministry with humility, wisdom, and respect.
The spirit of aloha, kuleana, and mālama ʻāina will remain at the heart of every step forward.
With gratitude for the land, the people, and the generations who have cared for Hawaii before us, we commit to walking this path of stewardship together.
Through our actions we seek to nurture a future where Hawaii’s culture, communities, and ecosystems thrive.
Mahalo to all who walk this path of aloha and service with us.
