Bee Boys — Regenerative, Treatment-Free Apiary of Kaʻu, Hawaiʻi

Bee Boys is a regenerative beekeeping company based in Nā‘ālehu, Kaʻu (Big Island, Hawaiʻi). Rooted in deep respect for honeybees, they practice treatment-free, instinctual, and biodynamic apiculture—letting the bees guide the work and honoring the sacred order of the colony. Their commitment is simple: the bees come first.

Their Philosophy & Practices

Bee Boys operates on radical principles of regeneration, humility, and servitude to the hive:

  • 100% treatment-free beekeeping—no chemicals or external interventions
  • Hygienic behavior encouraged naturally—bees manage their own health
  • Bees raise their own queens—no imported or purchased stock
  • No plastic, no painted hives, no commercial foundation
  • Bees swarm freely (not captured)
  • No feeding, no hive relocations, no pollination trucking
  • All colonies descend from the same stock over 8 years—a family line preserved in perpetuity

They harvest raw honey by cutting comb and crushing it, then use the wax in their handcrafted salves, balms, and products—all made with integrity and deep aloha for the bees and the land.

What They Offer

Bee Boys produces raw honey, natural salves, skincare blends, and other wellness products—each crafted with the understanding that what serves the bees must serve the people sustainably. Their offerings are safe for the ocean, the soil, and the consumer.

They also maintain a presence at farmer’s markets (e.g. Keauhou, Kailua-Kona) and welcome community engagement.

Why We Highlight Them

Bee Boys embodies the essence of what Support Local Hawaii honors: authentic, land-aligned, indigenous-forward practices. Their work restores trust and balance between humans and bees, uplifts apicultural sovereignty, and offers examples of how humanity can truly listen to life.

By featuring Bee Boys, we uplift a story of deep caring, radical humility, and ecological integrity—one that resonates across our islands and beyond.

He aliʻi ka ʻāina, he kauwā ke kanaka.
The land is chief, people are its caretakers.
In caring for the bees, Bee Boys helps care for the land, and in doing so, uplifts us all.
