Empowering Sustainable Agriculture in Oahu
Located in the heart of Lualualei Valley on Oahu’s west side, Kahumana Organic Farms is a 31-acre certified organic farm dedicated to growing food sustainably and regeneratively. Since 1974, Kahumana has been at the forefront of agricultural and community development, producing over 100,000 pounds of organic produce annually while promoting food sovereignty and environmental stewardship. The farm grows a wide variety of crops, including leafy greens, root vegetables, fruits, and native plants, all using biodynamic and permaculture principles.

The Kahumana Food Hub plays a crucial role in connecting small farmers and backyard growers from the Waianae coast to larger markets across the island. By aggregating locally grown produce, the Food Hub helps prevent food waste, create income opportunities, and ensure that the community has access to healthy, locally sourced food. Additionally, Kahumana’s Farm-to-Table Cafe offers delicious, organic meals directly from the farm, further fostering a connection between sustainable agriculture and local food systems.

Kahumana’s mission extends beyond farming, as it provides housing and employment to homeless families and individuals with disabilities through its various social service programs. By combining agriculture, education, and social support, Kahumana has created a holistic model of sustainability that serves both the land and the community.
